Nova Scotia - Halifax and district, Canada

Halifax is the capital of Nova Scotia. Like any city, there are beggars and construction. Whilst Halifax is not the most picturesque skyline, the surrounding coastal drives and the history associated with the area more than makes up for the modern and mismatched skyline.

seriously... chocolate coated bacon. Ew.

Visiting the immigration museum and the maritime museum is a must to understand the culture and heritage of southern Nova Scotia. So much immigration, including a lot of Irish, the sinking of the Titanic out from its shores, the Acadien history all make Halifax a really interesting and awesome place to visit. A great way to see the main aspects of the city was to travel on the Harbour Hippo... a lot of fun. :-)

The Citadel was a focus point of history. Whilst never involved in battle, perhaps its formidable location and strong stone walls was enough to deter anyone considering a battle.

Titanic graves were sombre.....

Other highlights were the farmers market, wandering around Point Pleasant [very pleasant :-)] and visiting the pubs!!!!
